The newest integrated resort and casino to open in the Philippines, is set to become the iconic destination in the Entertainment City. In preparation, several IT Initiatives were launched to support the operations of both Gaming and Non-Gaming Business Departments.  Spearheading this effort is the Project Management Office (PMO), who sought to leverage SJB Consulting’s extensive experience in delivering IT Projects in a time-sensitive Pre-Opening environment. 

 

Challenge:  The PMO Leadership faced with the daunting task of managing several projects with a newly formed team; with most members have yet to work in an integrated resort environment. This situation resulted in a team that is hard pressed to provide leadership to the more seasoned Business Users. 

 

Solution:  SJB Consulting provided a team to perform several roles within Okada Manila's PMO; all of which have extensive experience with Pre-Opening efforts for Integrated Resorts:

 
                             Project Managers – provide leadership for the implementation of IT Initiatives, and manage project                                                  activities to completion.  
                            Business Analysis Specialists – work in partnership with Business Users to ensure requirements are                                               accurately translated into system functions

 

 


Major Resort Hotel Gaming Property in Macau

Challenge:  Galaxy Macau acquired a new recruitment solution in anticipation of the massive hiring requirements for the opening of the Property. The aggressive timeline coupled with the challenges of implementing a relatively untried solution required leadership with strong project management and solid HR solutions experience. The situation is made even more challenging as the implementation will be performed alongside ongoing mass hiring activities. 

 

Solution:  An SJB Consultant engaged with GM COE Management early on to provide vendor assessment and selection consultation services to determine the best fit for its requirements. During implementation, the consultant leveraged extensive industry experience to design, customize and implement the solution within the short timeframe. Part of this engagement included the collaboration between vendors to deliver an integration solution with SAP HCM. 

 

 

 

 


Major Resort Hotel Gaming Property in Las Vegas

Challenge:  The client was faced with maintaining the Las Vegas operations and opening a new property. The IT department needed a separate team to carry-out the projects for the opening, most of which are newly hired project managers that did not have the corporate business knowledge or gaming and hospitality experience. Management requested that we perform that role. 

 

Solution:  Having comprehensive knowledge on Wynn’s business and pre-opening experience, SJB Consultants provided guidance and direction to WLV Project Managers on project planning, coordination with various stakeholders, and project reporting. We likewise led the efforts for the property’s "play day", identifying key activities and resource assignments, and providing support throughout the opening. We continued to provide guidance to the IT Executive Management team, particularly on the "IT Roadshow" initiative, aimed at fostering better project coordination with the business.

Challenge:  Diamond Resorts International (DRI) is seeking to improve delivery of critical solutions to the business and its members while continuously expanding its presence in US and in Europe.  Diamond's legacy application for Sales, Inventory, Contracts and Property Management is in the process of migration to a new and fully integrated in-house developed system, incorporating the DRI brand.  Temporary and long term approach needs to be defined in order to address the current operational issues and the future needs of the growing  company.  

 

Solution:  SJB Consultants performed as Business Analysts for DRI, identifying business requirements, determining the process as well as front-end and back-end solutions, and ensuring support/integration with on-going initiatives. Simultaneously, we provided Project Management on the following key projects of DRI:

  • Customer 360 - a data warehousing and business intelligence  solution which intends to provide users with a 360 degree view of the customers in order to create and a unique and personalized vacation experience;
  • Island One and Aegean Blue Properties acquisition - data conversion and DRI systems implementation on the newly acquired properties of DRI;
  • Club Operations - managing operational issues, enhancement and new development requests from the business.
