Challenge: Wynn Resorts was faced with two critical deadlines in advance of the opening of Steve Wynn’s luxury resort and casino. The first deadline was to ensure that Wynn’s processes and systems met the approval of the Nevada Gaming Commission Board to receive certification and be granted final approval of their gaming license. The second was the property opening itself, which required the quality assurance of 54 integrated systems and processes, most importantly the gaming, hotel and retail systems, in order to function properly.
Solution: SJB Consultants performed QA Management during the Wynn and Encore openings, establishing the QA Program which defined the necessary QA policies and procedures, improving IT's existing software development and vendor management practices. We provided training to Wynn's QA resources and guidance in establishing the IT environments. We also defined the QA strategies and test plans, delivered the planned tests and assisted the business in determining operational solutions to issues that the systems were unable to provide.
